Senior Advisor and Consultant
Jason Gray is an independent renewable energy consultant. Mr. Gray has over 10 years experience in energy having developed projects in oil and gas, hydro, and solar. Most recently, he was a General Manager and Vice President with SunEdison. In this role, he held P&L responsibilities for the company’s Canadian operations and oversaw business development activities in the US-NE. Under his leadership, the Canadian operations developed a solar project pipeline in excess 700MW and was successful in receiving contract awards or structuring modules sales for over 425MW. Transactions included the acquisition of Axio Power Inc. and a 156MW transaction with Northland Power Inc. He also oversaw the development, financing, and construction of Canada’s first utility scale solar PV project (RESOP) and the first utility scale FIT (Ontario’s Feed-in Tariff) project. Prior to SunEdison, Mr. Gray worked at MNP Consulting where he played a lead role in the firm’s Energy and Supply-Chain practice areas. Engagements included, royalty structuring for Alterra's 196MW hydro project, merger and acquisition services for Canada’s largest gaming operator, and regulatory assistance with exploration and production activities for several oil and gas juniors.
He has also held senior roles with Cargill Inc. He is co-founder of SunFarmer, an NGO providing solar energy services to hospitals in emerging countries. Jason received his MBA from the University of Calgary.
